Every year my family and I round up everyone and host a giant Thanksgiving feast at one of our houses. It usually falls to my home for hosting because of our two separate dining areas. While I absolutely love hosting Thanksgiving, I always feel bad about my younger nieces and nephews who appear lost as the adults all drink and converse.
This year I decided to do something a bit different. I prepared some fun activities for kids of all ages to do for Thanksgiving this year.
Ages 2-11 Boys & Girls
It didn’t take my long to come up with this one – Frozen will be playing on repeat in our media center. While I am sure I will hear “Do you want to build a snowman?” one-hundred times, I can put up with it to make sure the kids have a good time.
Ages 12-15 Boys
In the living room we have a giant TV screen which we’ve set up every game imaginable – Wii, Game Cube, xBox, Playstation. Not only that, we also rented tons of the biggest games online and have enough controllers for everyone.
Ages 12-15 Girls
I decided to leave a few smaller meals for the tween girls that come over. I listed out the steps they need to take to make each dish. I know that one of them, my niece, loves to bake and this should be a great way for them all to spend some time together.
Ages 16+ Boys
In our backyard we set up football and soccer goals. It’s supposed to snow a bit over here the day before Thanksgiving, so this one might not work out so well
Ages 16+ Girls
We put out three surge protector outlets with over 12 plugs so that they can charge their phone. In all seriousness though, I wasn’t sure what to do for the older girls coming over so it looks like I’m going to have to wing it! Have any suggestions? Leave them in the comments :).
